HBD Deliciously Dressed!

Deliciously Dressed is exactly 1 year old today according to the notification WordPress sent me today. Hooray! I bought a cupcake for the occasion, but I’m an awful driver and it doesn’t look cute enough to photograph anymore. It probably still tastes like a cupcake though, thank goodness.

Dress – Delia’s

Shoes – Aldo

Went out to lunch with the boyfriend earlier. It’s been awhile since I had a lunch date that wasn’t on campus so I decided to get spiffy. Plus it’s DD’s birthday so I have to look good right? I swear my hair buns get bigger and bigger with every post.

Image

I’m happy to announce that I finally own my camera and will be taking my own photos from now on! Isn’t that lovely? I’m still getting used to this thing so be patient with me please. I hope to become a MUCH better photographer over time with tons of practice of course.

But yeah, holy shit, this blog’s a year old. I feel like I’ve made some progress and learned a few things. Obviously I’ve gone from iphone mirror shots, to a photographer, to finally being able to take my own pictures. I’m still no where near where I want to be as a blogger but I’m happy I stuck with it for this long. Fully aware my little baby blog isn’t anything huge but I love and appreciate everyone who follows along. It does mean a lot to me. :)

Either way, I have a ton of fun doing this. And I hope that  those of you who actually read this blog enjoy it as much as I do. That’s what’s important I suppose. I still have tons to learn and some more plans in store for the future, so hopefully you all still stick around for another year because I secretly hope you all keep coming back for either my outfits and/or because I’m hilarious! xoxo

I went down to the waterfront to watch the sunset and take pictures for my final photography assignment. We ran into each other and this mini last minute photo shoot happened.

_MG_7892

Top – H&M

Skirt- Urban outfitters

Necklace – H&M

Purse – Kate Spade

Shoes – Aldo

I guess there’s just something about me wearing peplums to the waterfront. I know I said I didn’t plan on buying more peplum-related items but it was on sale and fits well. Also, flats and sand are an awful combination. I’m still shaking sand out of them.

_MG_7847

Stuff I took pictures of that day that better turn out nice:

- The lighthouse

- Awkward couples

- A boat passing by

- Teenagers walking their cat on a leash

- And obviously the sunset

Took pictures around the waterfront in downtown on that ridiculously hot day last week. I still have sand in my shoes. How is this even possible?

Image

Top: Urban Outfitters

Pants: H&M

Shoes: Aldo

Watch: Fossil

I should have waited to buy that top, it’s currently on sale for $9.99. Patience is a virtue. But I really wanted to give this whole peplum thing a try. I’ll admit, this one in particular is cute and flatters my body well. But I don’t think I’m going to stock up on millions of peplum any time soon. It’s impossible to tell from the photo, but I’m wearing high wasted pants, which by some lucky chance cost $10 a pair.

Being a sassy sailor, as always.

P.S. – Since I’m still broke/DSLR-less I’m looking for a photographer in Syracuse to help out with my blog while I’m home for the summer until I get my own camera. I might be able to pay you in some way and you’re welcome to use pictures of me for your portfolio if you’re happy with them. Leave a comment or go to my contact page to get a hold of me if you’re interested!

Save The Princess

018

Frolicked around Delaware Park last Thursday before class. Someone running over the bridge saw us taking pictures and screamed “you look like a princess”.

I’m glad the world is finally starting to accept that I am indeed a princess.

019

022

023

Cardigan – Delia’s

Lace camisole – Forever 21

Skirt – Target

Tights – Anthropologie

Shoes – Jeffrey Campbell

025

One of my pointless trips to Target ended up being a total success. Sure I didn’t need a lavender maxi skirt, a sock bun, or fuchsia barbie pink lipstick but now I can’t live without any of them. Campus is windy (as always) and my new skirt was dramatically flowing behind me all day. High-low maxi skirts = capes for your legs. Also, why did it take me this long to use a sock bun? I don’t think I do it correctly every time I use it but my hair usually turns out pretty nice.

084

Ok so technically spring break ended a few days ago, but I’m dedicating the next two posts to it anyways.

I stuck around Buffalo for a few extra days because of work. I met up with some friends from my photography class at Spot Coffee on Delaware and Chippewa.  The plan was to mosey around downtown to do our photo assignment (we had to take pictures of people we knew/didn’t know. Typical intro to photo stuff I’m sure)

Luckily one of my friends had their DSLR camera on them and was happy to take a few pictures of me.

085

This happens to be my camera :)

086

082

083

And this is me getting my picture taken while derpin’ around Spot

088

Blazer: H&M

Corset: Urban Outfitters

Pants: H&M

Shoes: Aldo

Necklace: H&M

I remember when I was having dinner with my friends a few weeks ago they all told me that they’re so used to seeing me in mostly black with a pop or two of color. They hit the nail on the head for one of my reliable go-to’s ha ha ha.

092

It was spring break. I wanted it to be spring. If I wear bright colors and disregard outerwear that means it’ll get warmer right?

Wrong.

091

095

Hair tip that everyone probably knows – dirty hair is the easiest thing to curl and looks fabulous.

093

097

096

Close ups because why not

087

Right before this was taken, I was walking around Shea’s on that really rocky gravely street that’s under construction. I lost my balance and fell flat on my ass. Typical Celina move.

Shine Bright Like A Diamond

I enjoyed the random beautiful spring time weather we had over the weekend. I forgot that it was possible to step outside without a winter coat and giant scarf. It’s only Tuesday and it’s back to being cold, windy, and gloomy outside. Sigh.

098

Blazer: H&M

Sure my blog post title might lead you to believe that I saw Rihanna with the rest of Buffalo this past Friday – but I didn’t – I tricked you, ha! Instead, Jonathan and I saw Steve Rannazzisi aka Kevin from The League. For someone who doesn’t get football or fantasy football, I love this show.

100

Dress: ???

Necklace: H&M

I got this dress for Christmas from Jonathan’s mother. No idea where she got it or who made it but I love it because I love almost all LBDs. Pretty sure I bought the necklace on a whim because there was a 2 for 1 accessory promo or something. But I like paper cranes and origami, so it’s relevant at least?

101

Tights: Betsey Johnson

Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell, Spiked Litas

Return of the Litas because it was finally nice enough outside for them to not get ruined by slush and salt. This was a poor choice because we had to walk farther than expected because everyone and their mother took every available parking spot in downtown Buffalo Friday night. Damn you Rihanna, damn you! At least I looked good?

099

Bag: Kate Spade

This lovely thing was 50% off. How could I not get it? It’s probably not meant to hold text books but I cram all of my stuff for school in it everyday without a care in the world because I love it so much. I need more Kate Spade in my life.

102

103

Nail polish: grey (sally hanson) pink (urban outfitters)

Ring: Tiffany and Co.

I haven’t done anything nice with my nails in awhile so I kept it simple and used to painter’s tape to make stripes. The ring was one of my Valentine’s Day presents from Jonathan. It’s kind of difficult to read but it says “I Love You” in script around the band. Totes presh am I right?!

104

Sunglasses: Ray Ban

It even sunny enough for me to need to wear my wayfarers. Is this real life? Side note, I’m long overdue for a bang touch up. These side swepts aren’t cutting it anymore.

106

Every restaurant in downtown was packed because of that damn Rihanna (I don’t hate Rihanna. I just hate stupid traffic, walking long distances, and not getting into restaurants). Soooo we had nothing better to do than hang out at the bar for over an hour.

107

Jack and cokes, amaretto sours, and white russians kept us amused until show time.

110

By some miracle I woke up before noon and baked Cinnamon Toast Crunch muffins which by another miracle I didn’t ruin.

112

I left all of my lighter leather jackets at my parent’s home in Syracuse because I’m an idiot. I did leave this super stylish raincoat behind at least.

113

Coat: H&M

I’ve always wanted one of those long raincoats. It’s perfect for those in-between seasons and looks so effortlessly elegant. I receive the nicest compliments on it when I wear it out.

115

Ugh ignore the shitty lighting and my lack of a left arm. I’m playing around with this self timer app on my iphone. I should start pan handling on the streets for a DSLR.

114

Dress: Urban Outfitters

Another Christmas present dress! One of my friends got me this a few years ago.

116

I cooked a whole meal Saturday night. For anyone who knows me well enough, this is incredibly unlike me and therefore a huge achievement. I googled some recipes on Pinterest and voila! I made cheddar and bacon mashed potatoes and baked chicken that I rolled around in some seasonings that I can’t remember. Not pictured here are my failed home made mozzarella sticks. It was the saddest thing I’ve ever created in my life. I bought a bottle of Barefoot pinot grigio which was delicious and surprisingly not entirely downed by me. Pretty sure I had 2.5 glasses while Jonathan drank the rest while I was enjoying one of the few meals I’ve successfully made.

118

This is my promo picture for The Real Housewives of Buffalo State.

lol but not really I’m just lame.

In an attempt to encourage me to start cooking real meals that aren’t from a box or the frozen food aisle, Flo (my mother) bought me the cutest apron ever. Yes I have a wine stopper that looks like a shoe. Guess all it takes for me to get in the kitchen are cute accessories and delicious wine.

Worn This Way

Sorry lovelies, I’ve been having weird issues with WordPress for the past month and my wifi on campus isn’t the best. But I’m back.

Anyways – Jonathan and I went to Toronto the weekend before Valentine’s Day. He bought me tickets to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Ball for my birthday back in September. Of course we’d get attacked by the worst snow storm of the season the on our way up, but that didn’t stop us!

087

I love Lady Gaga. Deal with it. I won’t bore you with my personal story as to why I do, but if you’re interested just ask.

082

Top: Custom, Modern Pop Culture

Shorts: Custom, Modern Pop Culture

Of course I’m gonna go to my go-to DIY guy Nathan/my place of internshipping for a one of a kind outfit. The black lace cami was sitting in the back of my closet and I figured it had some potential. After shooting some ideas around we ended up with this! It turned out great and I plan on wearing it again and again. Luckily for me the high wasted dip denim cut offs were from a no-show customer last summer. Their loss because they fit me perfectly and look stellar!

084

Socks: Forever 21

Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell, NastyGal.com

The piece de resistance – JC Spiked Litas. Nasty Gal was selling them for $90 a few months ago. How could I pass that deal up?! A giant snow storm isn’t going to stop me from looking fierce.

I’ll admit, they’re not usually my style but I’ll make them work into my wardrobe because I love them so much. I do enjoy pairing feminine pieces with edgier items.

085

Omg Cat Woman’s all up in my hotel room! No wait, that’s just me.

083

Mask: H&M

My friend Samantha and I were supposed to be window shopping in H&M. Then she spotted this bedazzled satin cat mask. I mean, aside from Halloween, where else could I get away with wearing a cat mask just because. Now I can channel my inner Selena Kyle/Cat Woman whenever wherever – within reason. Or maybe I can finally pursue my life long dream of becoming Cat Woman in real life. I mean my name is already Celina and what not.

089

Sweater: Topshop

Pants: Free People

Purse: Kate Spade

Comfiest thickest warmest sweater I own, and it was on sale! I’ll eventually take a better picture of my Kate Spade bag because it’s perfect.

090

Bangs appreciation. My bangs were looking mighty fine that day just because.

092

093

Our hotel was near the Toronto Eaton Centre, so we had a quick breakfast there before our tourist filled afternoon.

099

I bet you can guess who chose to go to the Hockey Hall of Fame

Jonathan caught me taking a selfie with the Stanley Cup.

100

It was this selfie. Side note, it was a pretty cool place despite the fact that I know nothing about hockey. Also, hockey trophies are mega bougie. I appreciate that.

106

So. Shiny. Must touch but must not…

098

095

Somehow I got convinced to play virtual hockey. I did poorly. This is the part where I mention that my boyfriend is some type of big deal in hockey back in my hometown. I guess he holds records at West Genesee and SU?  He’s also a die hard Buffalo Sabres fan aka I’m probably the number 2 reason he frequently visits Buffalo. But yeah fun facts about my boyfriend.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that he kicked my ass in virtual hockey.

109

I lost my poutine v-card in Toronto. I’m not gonna lie this kinda looks like shit and has a ridiculous name. Gravy and cheese curds on fries didn’t sound too appealing to me at first. But it’s such a perfect combo that I could die. I might get a duel citizenship because of it.

118

After our hockey-filled afternoon, we had a very romantic dinner date at Jacques Bistro du Parc. Started the meal off with escargot. I’ve only ever had escargot once. In my 9th grade French class we got extra credit for trying it. I wish it tasted as good as this batch did.

119

We both ordered salmon and a few glasses of chardonnay. I had the grilled salmon, which was probably the best salmon I’ve ever had and probably will have for a very long time. One of the many things I love about French food are the portions. I’m able to finish a plateful (which is usually rare as you all know) and stay full.

121

Since there was room for dessert, I got a lovely little slice of raspberry tart.

Seriously, if you’re ever in Toronto and can somehow get reservations or get lucky enough to be seated without them(like us!), do it. Right meow.

124

After dinner we went to see an improv show at Second City. I ordered a Blue Hawaiian because I heard someone order it on Mad Men once. Being an alcoholic was socially acceptable in the 1960s therefore the mixed drinks from that era are probably incredible!

Oh and the show was pretty great. I know a ton of my comedy heroes came straight out of Second City so it was pretty cool to finally go to a show there.

128

The next day, we visited Kensington Market and had lunch at Oishia Kada. I’ve been obsessed with this cup ever since. If anyone knows where I can get this or something like it, then for the love of everything that is adorable please tell me!

131

Yes it’s absolutely necessary that Jonathan and I eat sushi in every city that we travel to. From what I remember, they had awesome lunch deals on Sundays and I enjoyed my sushi very much. Knowing me I probably got something with crab in it.

133

Yeah, you guessed it, I made us stop for more crepes. This was a cinnamon sugar one. And the folded portable kind which I haven’t seen since I was in San Francisco a million years ago!

134

I was mega cold and saw a sign out front for Nutella lattes. Of course I’m going to get one.

137

Ending my trip in the most Canadian way possible, at Tim Horton’s with a coffee and maple donut.

139

Toronto you’re a lovely city. Now that I’m aware of how lovely you are and seeing that I live 2 hours away from you, I should drop by more often.

Vegas Baby, Vegas!

Warning: This post is like 80% touristy photos of my boyfriend Jonathan and I when we were in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. Also, expect many goofy facial expressions because I can’t take serious photos when it comes to situations like this.

006

Woke up at the crack ass of dawn. I couldn’t sleep so we made weird faces the entire plane ride.

015

I literally begged Jonathan to take me to an In N Out before we did anything in Vegas. No regrets. Just awesome cheeseburgers and chocolate milkshakes.

056

Jonathan’s a huge fan of HIMYM so I bought him suitjamas for his birthday. I am the coolest girlfriend ever.

060

We went out with Jonathan’s family to Pamapas Brazilian Grille for his birthday dindin. I had no idea it was one of those places where they serve you food on those sword thingys (yes that is the professional terminology for that.) The first thing that ran through my head was that Brazilian restaurant from Bridesmaids. The last thing I need is anything coming out of me like lava while I’m cruising down the streets of Vegas. But this place was fantastic and the only tummy problem I had was from being stuffed. I literally got every bacon wrapped item they offered me.

061

My boyfriend’s one of those weird freakish people who hates chocolate. So it was pretty hilarious that he got a free chocolate mousse cake. Which I happily devoured because someone had to.

063

Post dinner we did go to Minus 5, that ice bar with that ridiculous cover price but is kinda cool because everything is literally made of ice. I don’t have any pictures because phones weren’t allowed inside. After 45 mins of being cold and unable to afford their ridiculously priced drinks, we decided to gamble a bit. Which we’re clearly not good at…

064

Happy derp day. Reason number 4 why I love Las Vegas: Free drinks in the casino area!

066

I think we ended up at the Mirage for whatever reason and I made Jonathan take a picture of my outfit.

Top – Urban Outfitters

Blazer- H&M

Shorts – Forever21

This is the only peplum that looks remotely good on me by the way.

070

Yeah I did end up giving in and getting one of those gigantic alcoholic tourist drinks because well I am a tourist. I think this was a pineapple and amaretto daquiri.

072

The next day, Jonathan I went to go see The Beatles Cirque du Soleil show at the Mirage.

074

Dress – Modcloth

This is currently my favorite thing to wear at the moment. I love everything about it! The shade of red is perfect, the collar is precious, and it flatters my body pretty well.

076

Earrings – Top Shop

There was a gigantic sale and I couldn’t resist these fox shaped earrings!

077

Headband – Top shop

I also couldn’t resist this black velvet jeweled headband that I saw shortly after I spotted those fox earrings.

083

For whatever reason, we somehow got upgraded to front row seats. I wanted proof so I decided to take a picture before the show. Then I got yelled at.

116

By some miracle I woke up before noon one day and we headed over to Crepe Expectations for brunch. 3 decently sample sized mimosas for $10?! Yes please. If I remember correctly we ordered mango, passion fruit, and pomegranate. If it were socially acceptable to start all of my mornings off with mimosas I totally would.

117

I usually order sweet desert crepes but I was mega hungry and went for something more savory. This big ole crepe was stuffed with ham, scrambled egg, Swiss cheese, and mushrooms. Hands down one of the loveliest brunches/crepes I’ve ever had. The whole restaurant was absolutely precious in purple and the owner was probably one of the friendliest people to ever exist. I need to move out here, or at least learn how to make crepes.

143

Sorry I can’t remember the name of this sushi restaurant, but it’s in Chinatown/near the strip. I shouldn’t be allowed to go to all you can eat sushi places because I’m always this close to dying from a sushi coma. Ugh seriously though we ordered everything. Like sashimi, nigiri, crazy unique rolls everything.

188

Having a tourist moment at the Venetian.

Skirt – Target

I’m a huge fan of chevron. I’m rarely a huge fan of orange. But it strangely works for me.

194

Another tourist moment on our gondola ride. Is it weird that I think the gondolier outfits are crazy adorable and I’d totally wear them? I also just realized that our gondolier was totally creeping in on our selfie, which makes him even more fantastic. All I remember about him is that his name is Santino and that he sang a lovely cover of “That’s Amore”.

199

There’s a surprising amount of gelato places in every single casino. This was probably an espresso or creme brulee flavored one because those are  my usual go-to’s.

204

Going off tangent to show you all how effortlessly cool and bad ass Jonathan can be sometimes.

206

Shortly after the above photo was taken, we met up with my dad’s best friend from back in the day at the Bellagio for drinks at the Petrossian Bar. This was probably the fanciest thing we did all vacation. We drank a couple of Sidecars, various other fruity cocktails, a whole lot of sparkling water, and ate plenty of fancy cheese while listening to my Tito Allen’s awesome stories about working at the Aria. Another fun fact, apparently they filmed some scenes from Ocean’s Eleven at this bar. So if you ever watch that movie with me expect me to yell out “I got drinks and ate cheese there once!” forever.

211

The next night we got all fancy again because we managed to get last minute tickets to O at the Bellagio. Honestly if you ever see one Cirque du Soleil show, go see that one. I promise it’s worth it.

221

That night was also our last full night in Vegas. I figured we’d end it the way we began it – at In N Out. It was a bittersweet goodbye as you can see. But seriously why doesn’t In N Out exist on the east coast?! It’s like they’re forcing me to consider moving out to the west coast. Overall I had a blast, and I’d totally return to Vegas in a heart beat.

I figured I’d save all of my extremely tourist-y pictures for the very end. I also have a few other photos on my Instagram (LinaBonBon) If you wanted to check that out. Enjoy!

094

Making a quick drunk phone call in a fake telephone booth.

106

109

Freemont Street

123

124

125

Reminding you all just how tiny I am in front of the Luxor.

147

148

149

I took a ridiculous amount of photos of the Bellagio Fountains. It’s the simplest thing in the world but I found it amusing enough to take thousands of photos whenever we were in the area. How can you not love fountains choreographed to popular songs?! Plus it’s free. Fun things are rarely free.

163

Oh hey look how adorable and realistic fake Paris looks!

170

171

168

176

Year of the Snake garden exhibit at the Bellagio.

186

A giant sinking boat from a random pirate show.

138

142

144

150

Typical pictures of all of the surrounding buildings. My one main rule for traveling is that you’re allowed to be all tourist-y your first visit. (2 first visits in case you don’t get to see everything. after that, go do  more exploring and be cool!)

224

Ironically enough this was my very last tourist stop since it’s right next to the airport.

Casually Casual

This will be my last post before my 10 day Vegas trip! Yes I’m going on vacation while I’m on vacation from school. Vacation-ception!

009

Went on a casual date with the boyfriend last weekend after a long month of us being sick and on the verge of death.

Shirt: Delia’s

008

Boots: Aldo

Christmas present from Flo this year! I didn’t need boots like this but I’m pretty glad I have them.

010

Watch: Fossil

I bought this after my birthday will all of the gift cards I received. I needed one for work because I hate not knowing what time it is. I wish still had the box it came it, they have the cutest tin boxes. This watch literally goes with everything.

011

Wallet: Michael Kors

One of handful of presents my boyfriend got me for Christmas. It hold plenty and my iphone could even fit in there if I didn’t have a crazy ridiculous case. and it’s in one of my top 3 favorite colors – hot pink. What I like most about this is that it doesn’t have that obnoxious MK print all over it. Seriously every time I see that MK print I read it as “mmkay” like Mr. Mackey from South Park.

012

We went to Mai Lan Restaurant for some pho. I couldn’t wait for the pho so we got egg rolls. But egg rolls are always a good idea.

014

I got the pho tai, rice noodle soup with rare beef aka the first item on any pho menu ever. I will always love pho because what other meal can you pay like $5 for and get a big bowl of awesome deliciousness that isn’t sketchy.

030

The next day I got a pre-vaycay haircut by my usual hair stylist, Crystal at Xquisite Designs. Switched it up a bit and showed her a picture of Beyonce’s bangs because Beyonce is fabulous. But let’s be serious, I show her different celebrities every so often to make me feel like I’m doing something different with my hair. Bangs are my secret weapon…

040

My mother told me I looked like Where’s Waldo in pastels that day.

037

Shirt: H&M

I own too many striped shirts. Every time I come home I find one that I left behind.

038

039

Jeans: Free People

Boots: Aldo

Got a great deal on both of these! I got lucky and got those pants under $20 and I think I those boots were on sale for $15. My thrifty shopping skills keep getting better with time.

041

Hat: Forever 21

I thought I lost this floppy knitted hat for good until I realized that my mother borrowed it and never gave it back. Looks like I’ll be taking it back and never letting anyone borrow it ever again.

050

The boyfriend and I went on a random middle of the week date recently.

049

Dress: Urban Outfitters

Sweater: Forever 21

051

Tights: Anthropologie

Boots: Aldo

I’m not sure if this picture does a good job of showing it, but they’re ombre tights. They go from navy to grey. They’re great winter tights, they’re thick and look great with boots. This is also one of the few things I can afford from Anthrpologie. My employee discount just makes everything less expensive but still out of my lame broke college kid price range. Someday I’ll move into an Anthropologie, yes you read that right.

052

We went to Limp Lizard in Liverpool for some bro food. This place is literally less than 5 mins from my house and I’ve never been until that day. My boyfriend who lives across the lake in Camillus has been here more times than I have. Anyways, I ordered a dozen hot wings which were great. Except for one thing, no matter what I did I could not get the bleu cheese to stick to them! I’ve never ran into such a crazy problem before in my life. It was an outrage, then I remembered I still had a dozen perfectly good wings in front of me. I get over things pretty quickly sometimes.

058

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend and his family to the brand new P.F. Chang’s for a pre-birthday dinner kinda thing. I somehow convinced everyone to order my favorite appetizer there, chicken lettuce wraps. My only complaint is that they give you four leaves of lettuce and expect that to feed an entire table of people. I have a small appetite 47% of the time and that’s not even enough for me.

059

My boyfriend’s mother ordered the bottle of wine. Ignore the suggestive name, because that’s what I did all night. It was a blend of merlot, zinfandel, and cabernet.

060

I ordered the crab fried rice. Aside from crab it had shitaki mushrooms, asparagus, red peppers, and I think some sriracha. Apparently this is one of their newest items on the menu so I gave it a shot. It was pretty good but a little spicier than I thought it’d be. Pretty sure whatever’s left of it was eaten by my family. *sigh*

061

And it’s not a true chain restaurant experience without some sort of birthday freebie! The boyfriend and I split that piece of tiramisu. Other than it tasting a little too frozen it was still pretty good.

Like We’re Gonna Die Young

Hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and everyone better have a blast tonight! This is the part of the blog post where I thank everyone for being awesome. This is the other part of the blog post where I make some new year’s resolution to improve my blog (which is totes gonna happen so stay tuned!) Since this is my last post of 2012/I procrastinated for a few days, here’s an extra long post!

028

Went out for my BFF Meg’s 21st birthday the day after Christmas. Birthday black out blizzard, holla at us!

029

Dress: H&M

Belt: H&M

I’ve lost track of how many LBDs and lace dresses I own. I’ll never get sick of them. I thought I outgrew bows until I saw this precious belt.

043

Clutch: Express

One of my Christmas presents from Flo! I’ve been lusting after envelope clutches for quite some time. Good job Flo!

031

Eyeliner: Eyeko

Lipstick: Lip Tar

I’ve tried out many liquid liners over the years and this one is my all time favorite hands down. I’ve heard so much hype about Lip Tar so I finally had to give it a shot. This shade of red is fabulous and it does stay on for a crazy long time. My only complaint is that it’s kind of messy to apply if you don’t get the hang of it. Other than that I’m loving it!

The ladies and I went to Pastabilities for dinner. While waiting I ordered a round of birthday cake shots. This baked spinach and manicotti dish did a great job of filling me up pre-drinking festivities.

Bittersweet for some desert and more wine. Unfortunately everyone attacked the giant cookie desert we split before I could take a picture of it. But trust me it was fantastic. We ordered a bottle of white zinfandel, which I’m a huge fan. I love me some rose. Go ahead and judge me.

1 round of shots, 2 bottles of wine, a vodka and cranberry, a complementary shot of bailey’s and crown royal, and a few rounds of irish car bombs later I took this derptastic selfie at Blue Tusk. Everything was great up until the irish car bombs, then shit got real and really weird…

The following night was my karaoke extravaganza that I try to host every year while my friends and I are home for break. Last year’s theme was ugly sweaters, which was a 50% fail. So we’re just going to get dolled up and classy from here on out.

Dress: Modcloth

This dress is usually referred to as “the beetlejuice dress” for obvious reasons. I bought this lovely thing on sale over the summer. It was originally a tea length dress, but since I’m super short and petite it didn’t look too flattering on me. I got the hemline shortened to my liking and now it’s absolutely perfect!

I don’t do too many up do’s other than buns because I’m too impatient to learn them. Hair bows are incredibly easy and surprisingly fast to do though! Thank goodness for giant cans of hairspray and infinite supplies of bobby pins.

050

On a side note my 2nd karaoke extravaganza was a success! We had quite the diverse variety to say the least. Like Helena by MCR, 90s one hit wonders, T-Swizzle, Total Eclipse of the Heart, and a disco remix of Sweet Caroline diverse.  P.S. yours truly and her awesome friend Rob scored a 100 on Niggas in Paris.

I should mention that there was a good 48 hours in between Christmas and now where I lived off of my mother’s eggrolls. You’re all invited to come over and eat eggrolls because they’re fucking phenomenal. This is at the top of my list of Filipino food that I need to learn how to make asap.

Mirror selfie at Roji’s! This was me post ice skating at Clinton Square with my boyfriend and little cousins. Side note this is one of the few times where my bun looks like what it’s supposed to. Gotta love surprise good hair days!

Sweater: H&M

I’ve been having a wine/burgundy obsession ever since fall. Can you blame me. Also, I need more sweaters. I always need more sweaters.

060

Leggings: Topshop

Bought these years ago when I was at the Topshop in Manila. They’re still in great condition and are incredibly comfy and cute! Those ice skates could almost pull off being cute boots. For the record ice skating is the only winter activity that I don’t completely fail at.

Knitted headband: Forever 21

Scarf: Forever 21

Outdoor ice skating requires shit tons of layers. I’m obviously going to use it as an excuse to wear cute cozy accessories. I adore this headband because it kind of reminds me of a turban and that scarf is one of the warmest things I own. It’d be 100% awesome if it were an infinity scarf though.

After freezing my ass off on the ice for over 2 hours I needed to warm myself back up. Praise Jesus that Roji’s is within walking distance from Clinton Square! I tried the new cinnamon tea that they had and filled up on onigiri and cinnamon cookies. Their cinnamon tea might be one of my new favorites of all time and my favorite cookies complemented them very well. I love onigiri and desperately want to learn how to make it. I only order it when I’m starving, and then I remember how incredibly filing it is.
